Certificate languages
Q: How can I issue Youthpass Certificates in more than one language?
A: The Certificate language is automatically pre-selected through the country ID in your project number. If you would like to issue Youthpass in further languages, please click on “select and add further languages” in “Step 3 - Enter participant/ volunteer details”. On the next page, you will see a drop-down menu with the initial Certificate language. Please do not change this first drop down menu if you would like to produce Certificates in this language! If you replace the language by a different one, all the project details you entered so far will be deleted!
If you don’t want to replace the initial Certificate language, but if you would like to create Certificates in further languages, please click on the blue sentence “add another language” below the drop down menu. Then a second menu will appear, where you can choose a second language. This way, you can add as many Certificate languages as needed.
After choosing your Certificate languages and after clicking on “save”, you are re-directed to “Step 3 – enter participant/ volunteer details”. Individual text fields will appear for each language you added marked by a country flag. Please fill in all the obligatory (bold) fields in the respective languages.
After saving your data, the system will ask you if you would also like to add the new language(s) for the project details. By clicking on “yes”, you will get back to “Step 2 – enter project details” where text fields will appear for each selected language. Please fill in at least the obligatory ones and save your data. By clicking “no” the project details appear in the original language only.
After generating the PDFs, the participant(s) will receive Youthpass Certificates for each selected language.
Please note that the Certificates are not available in all the official EU languages yet. On the page "Youthpass Certificates" you can read which Certificate languages are available for which Actions.
Q: After creating English Youthpass Certificates I wanted to issue them in German as well. However, after selecting “German” as Certificate language, all the details I had entered in English were gone! What did I do wrong?
A: This happens when you replace the initial certificate language by a different one. If you would like to issue Certificates in more than one language, please click on the blue sentence “add another language” below the drop down menu showing the initial language. Then, a second menu will appear where you can choose and save a second language.
Q: I selected a Certificate language other than English, but after generating the Certificates, the frame (headings etc.) was in English – and not in the language I selected. Why?
A: This happens if the language you selected is not available as Certificate language yet for this specific Action. We keep working on providing more Certificate languages step by step.
On the page "Youthpass Certificates" you can read which Certificate languages are available for which Actions.
