Towards the end of the project

And just like that, you come to the final day of the youth exchange.

So many things have happened and even more learning lessons have been extracted. Now it is time to look back, once more, and take a stock of the journey that you have experienced.

We are aware that you are still in it and some insights might be a little bit blurred. But, do not worry, they will become clearer very soon. In the meantime, it is important to catch all the different reflections that come more intensively when we see the end of the journey and note them somewhere. And, if needed, you can still make sense of them in the weeks (or even months! :) to come.

We would also like to remind you about the three activities that you have been doing throughout, as it is now the final time to come back to them:

  • 8 Key Competences Self-Reflection
  • My Learning Journey Map
  • My Learning Backpack
  • Mirror of My Learning Self

Oh, and one more thing! Embrace all the emotions that are coming your way, as they are the foundations to your learning. Tune in and try to understand what they are trying to tell you - they are there for you and so are we :)

Key reflection questions:

  • What have I learned about myself during this exchange? How do I feel more independent or confident now?
  • What did I learn about working with people from different cultures?
  • What moment made me feel confident when communicating or speaking up? How do I feel about sharing my ideas now?
  • What new communication habits or skills do I want to keep using in my daily life?
  • How has my way of thinking about stereotypes or differences changed? How comfortable do I feel now with people who are different from me?
  • What is the most important thing I learned about the exchange topic? How has my understanding grown since the beginning?
  • What do I want to take home and share with others: friends, family or my community?

You may answer these questions in your own way and follow the memories, emotions or reflections that come up. If you want to explore your journey more deeply or organise your learning visually, you can choose one of the suggested reflection methods below.

Ask yourself “What do I need right now?” and choose a method if you want to explore deeper:
