Cheat Sheet

Finding the right words to describe your learning can be tricky. This is an invitation for you to use simple sentence starters to turn your experiences into clear statements of growth. This helps you recognize your learning and explain it to others, whether in Youthpass, CVs, or conversations about your journey.

What you will need:

  • The Cheat Sheet (sentence starter table) - printed or on your screen
  • A notebook or several blank sheets of paper
  • Pens or pencils
  • If doing it digitally - a phone, tablet or computer

Instruction:

Take your Cheat Sheet (table of sentence starters).
Choose words or phrases from each column to build complete sentences about your learning.

Column 1 – Action (e.g., I explored… I discovered… I experienced…)
Column 2 – Context (e.g., while… by doing… through… with…)
Column 3 – Meaning (e.g., that showed me… that will allow me to… that improved…)

Write at least 5–6 sentences that capture different aspects of your growth.
Read through them and highlight the ones that feel most true and meaningful.
